I was brought into a global biopharma transformation at a moment of real pressure.
A major business shift had exposed the cost and inflexibility of several highly customized legacy systems across regulatory, clinical, and quality. Those systems had become too expensive to sustain, but the functions they supported could not tolerate disruption.
At the same time, the company was integrating newly appointed senior leaders from a recent acquisition. Several of them had already used a modern life sciences platform successfully in prior roles. That mattered. It created a rare opening to replace aging infrastructure with a more integrated operating model, backed by executives who already believed in the solution.

Visibility where failure has no second chance.

I took on an advanced therapies initiative built around a question that was hard to ignore: If a $12 pizza can be tracked end to end, from order placed to dough made, oven, quality check, driver assigned, en route, and delivered, why couldn't a $500,000 life-saving therapy be tracked with the same clarity?
That contrast exposed a real operational failure in a setting where the stakes were incomparably higher.
Children waiting for cell therapy were depending on a treatment manufactured from their own cells and moving through an extremely time-sensitive supply chain of manufacturing, logistics, and clinical coordination. In some cases, the therapy had a very limited viability window. A breakdown in handoff, timing, temperature control, environmental monitoring, or chain of custody and identity could put the treatment itself at risk. Families were left waiting for a life-saving therapy with little real visibility into where it was, whether it was safe, and when it would arrive.
